Rhodar volunteers at two food charities in Edinburgh…
Posted on in Company News
Empty Kitchens Full Hearts and Soul Food are Edinburgh-based food charities dedicated to offering a safe space where individuals can enjoy a hot meal, receive support and respite, and have food parcels delivered to those living in unsecure accommodation across the city. They provide a crucial lifeline for those facing homelessness, poverty, or loneliness.
The Rhodar team spent two days working alongside the charities' volunteers, helping prepare meals in the kitchens, serving at a church location, and assisting with deliveries to ensure people have access to this vital service.

Rhodar also assembled x200 ‘wellbeing packs’ to be donated across the two charities, with each pack containing toiletries such as washing up liquid, shower gel, lip balm, toothbrush and toothpaste, as well as hats, gloves and thermal blankets – providing users with much-needed day-to-day essentials.

These initiatives have been delivered as part of our important Social Value commitments for Rhodar’s current demolition project at Darwin Tower, Edinburgh, in conjunction with University of Edinburgh.
A big thank you to Sarah Hutchison (Empty Kitchens Full Hearts) and Jenny & Richard Cornfield (Soul Food) for kindly taking the time to show the team the wonderful work you do day in, day out.
