In March Rhodar held an Asbestos Awareness Seminar for all contractors and key stakeholders appointed to the North Yorkshire County Council TAR 2012.

Held at Solberge Hall, in Northallerton, Rhodar worked with the appointed Asbestos Consultant (AAC), Lucion, and Principal Contractor, Jacobs, as part of an ‘Asbestos Awareness Day’. The first event saw Lucion, and Rhodar’s Group Commercial Manager, Darren Payne, take to the stage to provide the audience with a range of key points that covered asbestos awareness and the importance of working in partnership to protect the integrity of North Yorkshire County Council’s asbestos management needs. In the afternoon, Darren, along with Rhodar Regional Director, Jason Ellis, discussed in detail the plant, equipment, set-up and procedures used during a typical Rhodar asbestos removal job.

Feedback was extremely positive, and one contractor commented, “I was very impressed with the working relationship between Rhodar, Lucion, Jacobs and North Yorkshire County Council. I now have a much clearer understanding of the things these guys go through to keep everyone safe, especially us contractors.”
