An innovative bespoke welfare and hygiene facility has been developed for Rhodar’s Homeworks division. A first for the asbestos industry, the vehicle contains a shower, toilet, mess area and a waste compartment. The vehicle allows Homeworks’ operational teams to be entirely self-sufficient when working on-site, with no need to hire additional welfare facilities.

“This sets us apart from our competitors, and provides a number of benefits to our clients,” explains Séan Doyle, Head of Homeworks. “Our hire costs are reduced, and we are seeing a reduction in our fuel bills. Additionally, the vehicles are more eco-efficient.” There are four vehicles currently operational within the business, with plans for a further ten over the next few months. “The welfare and hygiene facility is the result of six years of development,” continues Séan. “And it doesn’t stop there. We are working with the HSE to incorporate further developments into the unit, to act as a benchmark for the asbestos industry.”

A new CGI video, hosted on the company’s Youtube channel has been produced to highlight the hygiene van’s key features and to support and promote its benefits: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fyy7yQAV2DU
