Rhodar donates 60 computers to support school education

Rhodar has donated over 60 computers along with a range of keyboards & monitors for distribution to schools, to help children continue their education from home.
The onset of COVID-19 last year, meant that a high proportion of our staff began remote-working, generating the need to re-equip all our office teams with portable laptops.
Our IT team did a fantastic job rolling out this new equipment across the UK, whilst at the same time assembling in excess of 100 recovered units.
We then approached Techbuyer, a sustainable IT solutions provider based in Harrogate who will refurbish 60% of the equipment (including full data erasure and testing) to give it a ‘second life’, thereby directly helping dozens of school children and families to complete their remote assignments during these incredibly challenging times.
Jason Davy, Rhodar’s MD (pictured here) commented: ‘We encourage all companies to follow a similar path with their IT equipment as it’s estimated that 1.5 million children across the UK have limited or no access to internet devices – with some having to resort to using their parent’s phone for schoolwork.’
