Site Manager- Passive Fire Protection
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team as a Site Manager, in our Passive Fire Protection division based in Leeds.
Salary: £42,000-£45,000 depending on experience.
About the role
We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee and manage our passive fire protection projects in Leeds and surrounding areas. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the timely delivery of projects, managing on-site teams, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and maintaining high standards of quality.
Role responsibilities
- Project Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of passive fire protection projects, ensuring that work is completed on time, within budget, and to the required standards.
- Team Management: Manage and coordinate the activities of site operatives, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring they adhere to company policies and safety protocols.
- Compliance: Ensure all work complies with relevant fire protection regulations, British Standards, and building codes, including maintaining up-to-date records of fire protection installations.
- Quality Control: Monitor and inspect work to ensure that it meets the required specifications and standards of passive fire protection.
- Health & Safety: Implement and enforce site health and safety policies, conducting regular risk assessments, toolbox talks, and safety audits.
- Client Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for clients on-site, addressing any issues or concerns, and providing progress updates as required.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate site records, including daily logs, site diaries, and reports on project progress, issues, and resolutions.
- Problem Solving: Identify and address any potential issues or delays on-site, implementing corrective actions as needed to keep the project on track.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving processes, quality, and efficiency on site.
About you
- An NVQ in passive fire is preferable.
- A valid UK driving license is required.
- Proven experience as a Site Manager, particularly in passive fire protection or related fields (e.g., construction, fire safety).
- Strong knowledge of passive fire protection methods, products, and relevant regulations (e.g., BS 9999, BS 476, etc.).
- Relevant certifications in fire protection (e.g., FIRAS, IFC) are highly desirable.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and manage on-site teams effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
- A strong commitment to health and safety, with a thorough understanding of construction site safety practices.
